About Dr. Jorge Aguilar:

Dr. Aguilar is a board-certified psychiatrist providing mental performance training and talk therapy to athletes in collegiate, Olympic, and professional sports. He is the team sport psychiatrist to New York City FC in Major League Soccer (MLS) and a consultant to Major League Baseball (MLB) on mental health and mental performance. He also participates in the MLB Rookie Development Program, assisting young players transitioning to the Major Leagues. He is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Director of Sport & Performance Psychiatry at Montefiore-Einstein. He trained in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and completed a Psychiatry Residency and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. Dr. Aguilar specializes in the assessment and treatment of psychiatric conditions commonly seen in sports, and uses a unique hybrid of sport psychology and evidence-based talk therapy to help athletes elevate their performance in sport and daily life.
